The Iron Mountain and Eastern Divide Back Country Horseman invite you to join us for this fun raising weekend. Meet new trail riding friends, trail ride, have fun with the Cowboy Challenge obstacles, Eat good food, enjoy live Old Time Mountain Music around a camp fire. You may attend informational clinics. There will be a used tack sale.
Ivanhoe Fire Dept. Show Grounds, Trestle Road, Ivanhoe VA
Located at the crossroads of the New River Trail and The VA Highlands Horse Trail
Check in at the gate after 12 noon
Ride on your own (maps provided)
Practice the Cowboy Challenge obstacles in the ring
Pot Luck dinner at 6:30 pm
Clinics TBA 4:00pm
Dinner 6:30pm (registration required), Live Old Time Music and Camp Fire
Fun Cow Boy Challenge 10:00 am
Preregister by Oct. 1, 2014 $35.00/ person (see registration form)
Later $40.00/person, No Meal Guaranteed, Children under 12 free
Primitive Camping, no hook- ups, water on premises, toilets and bath house, horses may be high tied or in portable corals. Dogs must be contained and not allowed on the trails. No Stallions.
Tee shirts for sale, raffle, used tack sale. You may bring an item to consign to the tack sale or items to donate to the trail fund. Consigned items must be valued at $100 or more, fee 10%. Tag your item.
Directions from the North:
I-81 to exit 80
Turn left onto US 52 South (Fort Chiswell Rd)
Turn right onto VA-94 South (Ivanhoe Rd)
In approximately 9.6 miles turn left onto Trestle Rd
Go to fork in road, take right to go under the bridge and then turn left onto show grounds
Directions from the South:
I-77 to exit 24
Turn left onto VA-69 West
Go to end of exit ramp, turn left onto VA-69 West (going under I-77)
In approximately 4 miles turn left onto State Rte 619 (Austinville Rd)
In approximately 4.2 miles turn left onto VA-94 South (Ivanhoe Rd)
In approximately 4 miles turn left onto Trestle Rd
Go to fork in road, take right to go under the bridge and then turn left onto showgrounds
